We recently picked up an old 1980 Ford F-Series truck in Coquitlam, and this one had definitely seen better days.
The truck had been sitting on an unkempt property for approximately 30 years. After three decades of exposure to the weather, it had become extremely rusty, and various parts were missing.
At one point, this old Ford would have been a useful working truck. But after spending three decades sitting outside and deteriorating, there simply wasn’t much left that could be salvaged.
In the end, the truck was worth enough to make it worthwhile as scrap, and we were able to pick it up and get it out of the property.
Here’s What 30 Years Outside Can Do
The first photo shows the old Ford as we found it. It’s a good example of what can happen when a vehicle is left outside for years and years without being driven or maintained.
The second photo gives you a better idea of the condition of the truck. There was rust throughout the vehicle, along with missing components and plenty of evidence of its long stay on the property.
By the time we picked it up, this was no longer a truck that made sense to repair. Its useful life as a vehicle was over, but it still had enough value as scrap to make removal worthwhile.
